Author Guidelines

Prospective authors should consult the author guidelines carefully before submission. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Submissions should be written in clear, academic English and conform to CJSS formatting requirements. Typical sections include Title, Abstract (≤250 words), Keywords (3–5), Introduction, Methodology, Results/Discussion, Conclusion, and References. Authors should follow a standard citation style (e.g. APA, MLA, or Chicago) consistently throughout. All authors must be listed with full affiliation details, and the corresponding author indicated. Contributions by each author should be transparent (see Publication Ethics).

  • Formatting: Double-spaced text, numbered pages, and either Word or LaTeX format. Figures and tables should be embedded and referenced in the text. Abbreviations must be defined on first use.
  • Abstract & Keywords: Provide an informative abstract summarizing background, methods, key results, and implications (no citations). Choose keywords that reflect the core topics.
  • Ethics & Originality: Authors must declare any conflicts of interest and funding sources. Submissions are screened by plagiarism detection software, and any similarity beyond acceptable norms will be flagged. Proper citation of all sources is mandatory. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is prohibited; papers must have the editor’s exclusive consideration until a final decision.
  • Revision: If revisions are requested, authors should respond promptly and thoroughly. Reviewers’ comments should be addressed point by point. The revised manuscript must include a cover letter listing all changes.
  • Copyright: By default, authors retain copyright and license their work to CELT under CC BY 4.0. The published PDF will include a Creative Commons statement.

All manuscripts go through a preliminary editorial check (scope and compliance) followed by peer review. Complete submission details, templates, and style files are available on the CJSS website.
