Plagiarism Policy

CJSS enforces a strict plagiarism policy to safeguard scholarly integrity. All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using tools like Turnitin. Manuscripts must be original and properly reference prior work. Plagiarism includes copying text or ideas from any source without citation. Even paraphrased content requires acknowledgement of the original source. Self-plagiarism (recycling one’s own published text) is also prohibited beyond minimal reuse of methods descriptions. We define clear guidelines: verbatim text beyond a brief excerpt must be in quotes and cited. Authors should limit direct quotations and instead write in their own words with references.

If plagiarism is detected, action depends on severity. Minor overlap (e.g. a few uncited sentences of background) may be corrected by the author with revisions. Significant plagiarism (uncited reuse of substantial text or data) will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript. The authors may be banned from submission for a period (e.g. 1–5 years) depending on the case, in line with best practices.Any attempt to submit duplicate or overlapping submissions simultaneously will be treated as a serious violation. Ultimately, upholding originality is crucial; authors are urged to cite sources properly and produce new contributions to the literature. (For more detail on handling misconduct, see Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.)
